The Girls' Bedroom

With the arrival of twins looming soon in the future, I have been very busy the last few weeks getting the downstairs bedroom ready for the older girls to move down into. I spent a lot of time scraping wallpaper off the wall. Then I spent the last 3-4 days painting. That job is finished!
Recall how the room looked when we bought the house:
The wallpaper you see here is the 3rd layer. It came right off but the bright red and gold wallpaper that matched this carpet had really good glue. That is what I spent about 11 total hours scraping off.
This is the bottom layer of wallpaper that is coving drywall that is neither mudded or taped. Therefore, I decided to leave this layer on since it was destroying the drywall taking it off.
The carpet was an immediate improvement!

Here is the room after painting but missing all the trim that will go up soon. I haven't got to that point yet.

The wallpaper walls I sanded down, textured, primed (well), then painted. I really like the color!
Chair rail will go up between the white and pink
And a new curtain will be made for the window

My girls claim that "they love it" which is the whole point. Therefore, it is a success! It is a lot brighter and cheerful than the rest of the basement. I am still considering painting all the paneling to brighten it up. However, it will definitely all be ONE color! Three colors takes a lot of work. It turned out very cute!
