Twins!

I knew I was expecting. The time had come for my first appointment. After talking to several people, I had chosen a new doctor here in Blackfoot (my first three kids were born in Pocatello). Once I got to my appointment, I saw my doctor, Dr. Larson, walk the catwalk to the hospital. A few minutes later, the receptionist told me that he had an emergency at the hospital and they weren't sure if he'd be back. So, they took me back and got paperwork done, but we scheduled another appointment to do the ultrasound. I got home (a whole 3 minutes away) and they called me to tell me he was back in the office so come back. I told Elena I was going to go get a picture of our baby so she was okay with the fact that I was leaving again. I got back to the office and visited with Dr. Larson for a few minutes. I told him that we had three girls and he concluded that it was time for a boy. I agreed. We then had a discussion about there might being more than one. I laughed and said that I did NOT wish for twins and that just wasn't going to happen. My sister-in-law wanted twins and I thought she was crazy! So, he says, "Let's go take a look at this baby to determine how far along you are." We went to the ultrasound room and got all ready. It was a vaginal ultrasound and when he got it in there, I could hardly believe my eyes. I thought it HAD to be some sort of cruel joke! The nurse started giggling and I said, "Are you crapping me?!?!?!" because I could see that there were definitely TWO babies! He said he wasn't. I sat there in complete shock as he measured each baby and found the heartbeats. I asked if this was a dream. He, with his sense of humor, said, "No, it's a nightmare!" So, both babies have strong heartbeats and are 8 weeks along. Dr. Larson gave me a DVD to take home to share the news with Jason. I came home and walked in the door and tried really hard to act like everything was completely normal. Elena immediately asked if they could see the pictures of the baby. I said sure and interrupted whatever Jason was watching to put in the DVD. He was thinking, "Do we HAVE to do that RIGHT now?" Well, it took a minute for the picture to come up and the girls were complaining that they couldn't see anything. So, I pointed out Baby #1....and then Baby #2. I so wish I had a camera going on Jason at that moment! You should have seen him fly out of his recliner, eyes as big as saucers, jaw on the ground, exclaiming, "Are you kidding me?!?!" I assured him that I was not, though I wished I was! So, the rest of the evening was spent in complete and total shock! I never imagined in a million years that I would have twins. Today the shock has worn off quite a bit. I couldn't sleep at all the first night. Last night I slept great. So, here we begin on this new adventure! I'm sure there will be some great stories! Pictured above is the ultrasound picture with the unmistakable two babies.

Halloween

Halloween was fun this year! I attacked the dress-up box to dress all three girls as fairies. If I had been thinking ahead, I could have color coded them to be the Three Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty. However, Elena is wearing her favorite color, as is Becca. Mckenzie's dress is the only one that fits her and only her. They were so stinkin' cute!
I shopped for a costume but could not find anything not skanky or cost $90! So I found these wings that match my old dance formal Mom made me. I slapped on my Miss MHS tiara and went as the "Mother Fairy." My girls thought it was great!
This is the best picture. All the rest have my head chopped off. I guess I really am that much taller than my girls. Notice the rockin' "Tinkerbell" hairdo!
Jason's costume. Those bubba teeth are SO gross!
A picture with next-door neighbor, Halle. So many cute fairies!
We are still trying to consume all the candy these cuties got!

Mckenzie turns 2!

I cannot believe that my baby is already 2! Time flies so fast! She has grown up so much in the last couple months! Here she is on the morning of her birthday. We had to start the day with a bath because she was completely soaked when she woke up. So, she looks squeaky clean!
In the afternoon she fell asleep watching a movie with Becca. Too cute!
After she woke up we decorated her cake. I think it turned out just perfect for her!
The girls waiting anxiously for Jason to get home from work so we could open presents and eat cake.
She needed a lot of assistance to blow out her two candles. She blew and blew but couldn't get her aim at the flame.
Opening presents
She squealed with delight but then wasn't sure what the heck this was.
Oh, now she gets it!

She was so excited even though this picture doesn't show it!
Elena and Becca thought her presents were cool too!
Now, before you think that we totally SPOIL our kids on their birthdays, I have to brag that I got everything you see here (plus some you can't see) for a whopping $5 before Christmas last year. I have been storing them this long just for Kenzie's birthday. Deal of the century, I know!
After our little party with just our family, we ate pizza and went to the Homecoming football game. I was much better prepared this time with snacks and drinks. We made it all the way through without being very frustrated. It was a fun day!
Happy Birthday, Mckenzie! We love you!

Camille's Birthday

My birthday was this past month. It was a good day! I got to sleep in and Jason made me breakfast. Since we weren't able to find a babysitter for the kids, Jason stayed home while I went to the temple alone to do a session. I haven't been for awhile and that was what I really wanted for my birthday! It was really nice. That evening we ordered chinese food which was yummy. Then we had a little birthday party. Jason went to an 8th grade football game and I watched a movie. Jason gave me a nice long back massage which was really nice too. So basically, I was spoiled! I was completely surprised by my gift! Here are the pictures opening it. Jason wrapped it inside multiple gifts so it was an adventure to open!
First box open
Next box
I think this is it...
I got a GPS for the car! This has been VERY handy in getting directions to people's houses for shows. I love it!!!
Jason made my cake. Do you get the 3^3 thing? I turned 27 and 3^3 = 27. I thought it was rather clever. Oh, he also baked me an apple pie. I prefer pie over cake. But that didn't stop me from eating 2 pieces of pie and 1 piece of cake. Calories don't count on your birthday!!
This was the actual birthday party

Bringing in the fire...
All the excited kids!
I actually blew them all out with one breath. But I forgot to make a wish!
Happy Birthday to me!

Precious

This was just too precious not to share.

Riding Bikes

This summer, the girls have really enjoyed getting to ride bikes in the driveway. Then we had a lull because we got Elena a bigger bike but it didn't have training wheels on it. I finally bought some and they have ridden almost every day. I caught these cute pictures one afternoon.

Mckenzie and our neighbor Halle (only 10 days apart in age) decided to climb into the bike trailer and I got this precious picture:
Then Becca decided to join them...
Fun girls!

Eastern Idaho State Fair

Last Saturday kicked off Labor Day weekend and the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Jason's family came to Blackfoot to watch the parade that comes close to our house. It was a hot day and luckily Jason was smart enough to put up our awning to provide shade. It was fun and the kids enjoyed it. Jason and I took the girls to the fair on Monday (Labor Day) but I forgot to take the camera. So, no pictures to record that event. We had fun seeing the animals (my favorite were the HUGE horses), eating yummy food (funnel cake, fried mushrooms, french fries), and seeing the sights. We were worried the weather would be cold but it was just perfect! I burned the back of my neck. Whoops! Here are some pictures from Saturday:
Waiting for the parade to start
Jason and his Dad with Thomas in the background
Sara, Daniel, and Janelle
Mckenzie enjoying some cold chocolate milk handed out. NOTHING beats milk in the beverage department, in my opinion.
Kenzie hanging out with Grandpa
Elena hanging with Thomas and Cynthia who live in California so we don't get to see them very often. Glad they came to visit!

Fun day!

Rebecca turns 4

Becca was so excited the morning of her birthday! It was FINALLY here and she was four! She was born yesterday, to me, and now she's four. We put Elena on the bus to school and me, Becca, and Mckenzie headed to Pocatello so go shopping. We looked at toys and clothes and played in the little playground at the mall. We went to Costco where Becca got her very own Berry Smoothie. We won't mention that half of it got dumped on the bathroom floor but oh well! We came home and decorated her purple butterfly cake. I know it looks pink but it is purple.
This one says "Becca" but it is kinda hard to read.
That night I made spaghetti as requested for dinner. Then Monica and Jon and their kids, and the Walkers came over for a little party.
Becca excited to blow out the candles.
Challenge: blow candles out on TWO cakes.
I had to include this funny picture. Mckenzie wanted to wear her swimming suit. I didn't want her running around in JUST a swimming suit so she was fine with the fact of putting it over her clothes. Looks funny but sometimes whatever keeps a kid happy is worth it!
Yummy cake!
Opening presents. Here she got Anastasia and a church movie.
She wanted a puppy dog. It is currently lost but it will turn up!
When I started asking what she wanted for her birthday, Becca said every time that she wanted an Ariel mermaid doll with Flounder. I guess she saw it at the store one time to be that specific. Notice her shirt? Yeah, this girl loves Ariel!
Present from G&G Winward. She also got some clothing from G&G Woodland but I failed to get a picture.
Happy Birthday Becca! We love you!
