Super Birthday

Yesterday was Jason's super birthday - 27 on the 27th. It was fun. I made him this quilt out of his beloved high school t-shirts and it was a big surprise. I've been so excited to show off my handywork so enjoy.

Look at that fire!
He actually got all the candles out in one blow!

Whole quilt
Some close ups (yeah some of my shirts are in there but it's because there weren't enough)

We have news

So, what news? What news could we have that could possibly be interesting to anybody else in the world? Well, we're pregnant, again! That's right with #3. I'm due in October. We're both really excited and yes, Jason hopes it's a boy this time. I am really sick and can't wait for that to be over but since it just started, I have a ways to go. So, that's our news. Pretty cool and pretty nuts!

Too Funny

Just ask Becca what's in her mouth and this is the face she gives you. I just think it's hilarious! I'm glad I was able to snag a picture because I'm sure it's just a phase she'll grow out of.

Wrestling Widow

Jason has loved coaching wrestling. He's been at it since October when Jr. High started. Nine of their 13 wrestlers are going to state this week. Congratulations! But, boy I am glad it is almost over! I had been a wrestling widow for that time and I am happy to get the coach back! However, I hear that he is thinking of helping with the freestyle wrestling. Oh well, whatever makes him happy makes me happy! Good luck at State!

Potty Training

Yay! We are having successful on the potty training front! You have NO idea how excited I am that Elena has FINALLY decided that she IS a big girl and can go potty in the toilet. She was so excited this last week when we went to the store to buy her underwear (Jason hates that "P" word). She was very descriptive to the very patient cashier that this underwear was for her because she is a big girl now and does not wear diapers and goes potty in the toilet, etc, etc, etc. Yes, we've had a few accidents but only one dealing with the gross stuff so I can handle it. Plus, the fact that she is doing this somewhat cold turkey is cool. I decided that I was not going to press the issue AT ALL until Elena decided she was ready and it has been wonderful! Yeah, it would have been nice if she was trained 6 months ago, but at least it has not been anything stressful for either of us and that is all that matters. The other thing is I think Becca will not be too far behind because she is already asking to sit on the toilet and wipes herself (even if nothing does come out) and then gives me a big smile and says she did it. Very cute!

My amaryllis has bloomed

I have been waiting since Thanksgiving for my flower to bloom. I thought I had killed it since it wasn't doing anything. (Turns out our house was too cold for its liking). But I have been waiting with anticipation since it started doing something after we moved and it finally blossomed yesterday. Since most of you will not get to see it in person, I decided to share it with you in pictures. Notice how much snow is outside the window? My amaryllis helps me to get past the winter "blahs" with its beautiful colors. Thank you Grandma Shirley for giving it to us!

Another Shiner

See what church ball can do to a man! Jason took an elbow right to the eye last night and came home with this shiner. I guess Elena and I should just get it over with and punch ourselves in the eye since it seems it's bound to happen soon. The best part is Jason has Parent Teacher Conferences today and tomorrow. That should make a good impression!

Super Tuesday

Okay, so I was the one who started this little family blog, however, it has quickly turned into a "girly" blog. (which I guess is not a bad thing, since it would never be updated unless Camille did it) Anyway, this is my attempt to reestablish my role as a blogger.
So tomorrow is Super Tuesday, and as I figure, the last chance for American conservatives to choose a leader who will LEAD with real conservative values. I thought that person might be Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney. After the primary results from Florida showed Huckabee to be a distant 4th, I thought he would do the right thing and bow out allowing Romney to get votes necessary to gain the nomination. He has since shown how much he does not really care for the conservatives of America and only for his future aspirations of becoming the VP under McCain, showing his true colors.
My hope is that enough conservatives understand the “Nader” effect is going to have dire consequences on our party. If John McCain gets the presidential nomination, it could ruin the Republican Party as we know it. After this election, the conservative base may no longer have a party.
I don't think I could go as far as voting for a democrat in the next election, but I sure as heck throw my vote away on a 3rd party candidate before I vote for John McCain.

Jon Schmidt is Awesome!

I love Jon Schmidt! If any of you have heard his music, you will agree. Many of you may be familiar with his piece, "Waterfall." He is my favorite composer and I think you listen to him, you'll find you like him. Right now there is a killer deal on his website. Through him, and another website (Mommycast.com) they are offering FREE downloads of several of his songs in both MP3 and sheet music. Since I play the piano, I love having both so I hope you go check it out. Jon's site
