Really big carrots

Have you ever seen carrots this big? My sister-in-laws' grandfather grew these. She said he just watered them a lot. I couldn't resist but to take a picture because these are huge! By the way, I finally got that picture up of Becca's eye if you want to scroll down to see it. Plus I have added more pictures at the bottom. Have a great day!

Check out the pictures below

Hi everybody! I have added a bunch of pictures at the bottom. Still no luck on finding the cord for my camera. I'll probably have to buy a new one. These pictures are from the last year or so. Enjoy!

Daddy's Little Girls

Jason says he needs boys. But when you look at this picture and see his girls are wrestling, I don't see why he needs boys "so he can wrestle." Jason is coaching wrestling at the high school and Elena always tells me that she wants to wrestle. She decided to tackle Becca during the photoshoot. I love it.

The Van Story Continues (and a lesson in communication)

Wow! Does this story get better. I planned to leave for my parents house on Thursday morning. I got up early and got everything ready to leave. Jason told me to go out and put the jumper box on the van about an hour before I was going to leave. I put it on an hour and a half early. So, I'm all ready to go and I go out to start and van and....nothing! It wouldn't even turn over. Okay, I'm upset. I have arranged to meet with a friend from high school and my sister, etc, and now my plans were getting botched. I e-mail Jason at work and tell him to come home on his prep. Meanwhile, I call and leave a message with my brother and talk to my dad. My dad seemed to think it was either the battery, the starter, or the connection in between. So I start taking the battery out to go get it tested. Well, long story short(er), it was fine. Jason came home and he decided I would take the car and he would walk to wherever he needed to go (in the freezing cold weather, I might add). So, I take him back to school and forgot to give him his keys. My brother called me on the way home and said he would come and help me. When I got home Jason said he didn't have his keys so I said I would either bring them to him or leave the house unlocked. My brother got here from Logan and figured out that the van was not all the way in park. KICK ME NOW! THAT WAS IT! Well, it's a Ford and they have a safety system so even though it looked like it was in park, it wasn't completely in the slot. Yeah! So I decide that I'm still taking the car and asked my brother to help me take the van to the school so Jason won't have to walk. I take the keys to Jason tell him how to get the van started if it won't go, give him the keys, and leave. About 8:00 that night I get a call from him at home and this is how the conversation went:
Him: "Where's the van?"
Me: "Um...at the school."
Him: "Well, that would have been nice to know because I just walked all the way home."
Replaying our conversation from earlier and I never said, "By the way, the van is in the parking lot." My bringing the keys did not register to him that I was also bringing him a car because I told him earlier that I would bring his keys. So, he walked all the way back to school in the freezing weather to get the van. I felt so bad so I hope I learned my lesson in fully communicating. But, hey, the van is fixed now!

Don't jump in the shower

I love our new apartment! The only thing I don't like is the bathroom - it's small and even though the shower is huge (thus making the bathroom seem smaller), there is no tub. This makes it slightly difficult when one has two little girls who have always enjoyed taking "tubbies". They are getting used to showers instead but last night might change Becca's mind about how much she likes them. I was busy getting Elena out when Becca started trying to jump up and down. I told to stop just as she took a great big slip and smashed her eye into the soap bottle. Soap bottles don't sound too bad but you should see her eye! She has a nice big gash across it which makes her look slightly evil. I would post a picture but I can't find the cord to connect my camera to the computer. When I find it, you will see what it looks like. So, my advice to anyone, young or old, is "Don't jump in the shower!"

Bad day

Okay, so I am frustrated. I had a bunch of errands I was going to run today and the whole nightmare started yesterday. I needed to go to the post office (3 blocks) in order to buy stamps and mail a bill that was due. Since I had the girls and it was -11, I figured I'd better drive. The van started fine and we went over there. We were inside for a grand total of 3 minutes but when we came out, the van would NOT start. I tried everything but it wouldn't even turn over. So, I decided we'd better walk home because it was cold and I couldn't just stay there. Thank goodness I had the stroller in the van but when we got home, I was completely frozen and so were the girls. Jason went and has his own story to tell about getting the van to start. He brought it home and all is good. This morning I go out because I need to run errands but again it won't do anything. My neighbor tried to help me jump it, but that didn't work. My neighbor across the street said I could borrow her car a little later today so I will because I have to go to the grocery store. Meanwhile, I plan on going to my parents tomorrow for the weekend and now I don't know if I can go because I need a car to get there. Hopefully, we get it figured out.

Here we go

Howdy, everyone! Yep, we're joining the mainstream and trying out this blog thing. I'm kind of excited because it will give me a continuous project to work on (and I need those). Be patient with me because I'm going to have to figure out how to work this thing and all the cool things it does. Meanwhile, I am enjoying looking at everyone else's blog to see what they are up to. Stay tuned...
