Sleeping Beauty

We borrowed Disney's Sleeping Beauty from my mom's video collection a couple weeks ago. Elena has watched it a few times and thinks it is great. The other day she was watching it and I was trying to catch a couple zzz's on the couch. Next thing I know, she has found a needle, pricked her finger, and was laying on the ground "sleeping." So I thought that was funny but then she kept kissing me on the lips to try to wake me up so she could show me her pricked finger. I think her imagination is getting more developed in the last few months.

My Gift

With every anniversary, there is a special "gift" you're supposed to give. For 5 years, it is wood. So, Jason bought me a new computer desk since our last one (a hand-me-down) got broken in one of our many moves. It was great because that meant that I also got to build it and, call me crazy, but I love that! Jason says I should go and be hired as the furniture display builder at a store. Here's our building in progress:
Elena and Becca were excited to help. They supervised the whole thing.
It was a little hard to build in a cramp space. My body hurt by the end from sitting on the floor.
Three hours later and, voila, the finished product. I really like it and yes, I do hope to keep it looking this clean all the time! It will be nice to actually have a work space for the office. Thank you for the great gift, Jason!

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was our 5th wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long already! It certainly has flown by. Jason and I were at my parents house for a couple days so he could hopefully shoot an elk or two (that is another story) and so we went on a date on Thursday night. We drove the 1/2 hour into town and had dinner and then found a Redbox and rented "Fool's Gold." Then we went back to my parents because my brother has this really cool screen/projector setup that is like you are at the theater (almost). It was fun and I am yet to get my present because we were there for a day longer than we thought so Jason still has to go get it. BTW he got a new portable DVD player since ours broke a couple months ago. So, Happy Anniversary to us and the next 5 years will probably go by even faster!

Elenaism

When Elena learned we were having a baby and my belly started to show, she was convinced that EVERYONE had a baby in their belly. Elena had one, Becca had one, and Daddy had one. Well, I explained to her that only mommys have babies so it was just me with a baby in my belly. A couple days ago, she informed Jason that, "Daddys don't have babies. Daddys only have guts." I thought it was rather hilarious and had to share!

Lake Powell

Well, we're back from our vacation. Yes, we had a blast! Lake Powell is my favorite place to go with the sun and water and sand and just plain fun. We played so hard, we came home exhausted! Even me who couldn't do a whole lot because of my increasing roundly state. However, I did eat....a lot! That only contributed to my roundness but it sure was good! Here are a few pictures to prove we were there:
The houseboat, the Belinda. She is so great!
You can barely see the rainbow but it was a full one that came after the daily wind/rain storm.

Jason taking a bath. Oh my, sand in the suit!

The engineers excavating the beach. It was pretty cool to watch the dam break and the water rush down.

I had to get a little time behind the boat. My doctor would probably freak if he saw this but I did it anyway. Besides, surfing isn't as bad as wakeboarding. I had fun doing it.

Jason on the surfboard. By the look on his face, I'd say he's having fun, wouldn't you?
The most fun was the zipline that Jason, my brothers, dad, uncle, and cousins built. This is Jason going down it. I thought about it, but decided it probably would be pushing the pregnant limits.
Our girls had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa but they were sure thrilled to get Mom and Dad back. I must confess, I did miss them more than I thought I would but it was a good vacation just the same.

We're Going on a Boat

Jason and I are headed off to Lake Powell for the week. Yes, I am excited! Jason's parents are watching the girls for us and we are going on vacation. It will be nice to have a slight break from parenting before the 3rd little Winward girl shows up. So, I hope you all have a wonderful week and be assured that I probably won't be missing you too much. =)

My Matching Camo Girls

We found these shirts on clearance at Walmart for $2.00 so we bought them. This was the first day the girls wore them and they thought they were so cool! Elena said this shirt gave her "big muscles." So cute!

Twin Falls Temple

This last week we took the girls to the Twin Falls Temple Open House. It was really cool! We missed the Rexburg Temple and I really wanted to take advantage of being able to take Elena inside. She always says she wants to go to the temple with mom and dad where they got married. It is a beautiful temple! Small, but beautiful! Elena and Becca were so excited to see all the pictures of Christ. I tried to prepare them a little beforehand by telling them that we were very quiet in the temple and that they were going to put special booties on our feet to keep the temple clean. Elena was fine with that but Becca would NOT let them put them on her. So we had to carry her. Oh well, it was fun and I think they enjoyed it.
