Unwanted haircuts

This morning I woke up to find Mckenzie with scissors in her hands. I immediately took them away. I thought to myself, I shouldn't have left those in the bathroom! Well, I start getting breakfast ready and see a small lock of what looks like Becca's hair on the kitchen floor. I picked it up and asked Becca what it was. She gave me this little smile and said it was hair. "Whose hair?" I asked. "Mine." "Is there any more?" Elena piped up, "Yep!" "WHERE?!?!" She pointed to the garbage can and I looked in to see a significant bundle of hair. I looked closely at Becca's hair and gasped in horror! She had cut off a bunch on the left side of her head. Elena said she cut her hair too but I couldn't see where she had done it. She also said Mckenzie's hair was cut too. I looked at it but didn't think I noticed anything. Then a few minutes later, I realized that Mckenzie's ponytail was a whole lot shorter than it was the night before. I did not yell, but I was sick! I have threatened the girls with their lives if they EVER cut their hair again. Elena said, "Oops! Well Mom, we didn't want to bug you cuz you were sleeping." See cut hair below:
Becca's chopped hair

Mckenzie's is harder to tell because it was in a ponytail so now it is all kind of layered.

There was no way I was going to be able to fix either girl's hair and have it look decent. So I called the hair salon and they were nice enough to squeeze us in. We had to go fairly short with Becca but it is cute. Perhaps it will be nicer for the tangles since she has such a tender head and cries whenever I brush it.
This picture looks funny because of the chair behind.
Her new "bob"

With Mckenzie's, the girl just evened it out and shaped it around her face a little. And no, Becca is not growing out of her head! =)

I guess it is a right of passage as a child to cut your own hair. Luckily it wasn't too dramatic since we have wedding pictures in a month. It could have been a lot worse!

Bling Girl

The other day, Mckenzie came out looking like this. I have to call her my Bling Girl. I guess I'm rubbing off on her with my jewelry business. =)
Notice the layering of three different necklaces. The hat is classic!

Playing at Grandma's

We went to Jason's parents for Conference weekend so I could help put together Sara's wedding flowers. Here are a couple pictures I snagged of the girls playing with their cousins:
Mckenzie in the sandbox. It was not particularly warm. She asked for a jacket.
The trampoline is an all-time favorite.
All the girls in the sandbox. So cute!

Elena's Turns Six!

Elena couldn't wait until her birthday! She was counting down the days long before! I think she had a good day and loved that so many of her cousins could come to her birthday party. Here are some pictures of the day:
She decided she wanted a ladybug cake

Happy Birthday

Love the drunken look
Reading a card. She is getting really good at reading!
This is the toy she asked for. I was surprised but oh well.
Bullseye! I found this on my trip to rally in California. I think I was more excited than she was!
Happy Birthday, Elena!

Curtain Update

Here is the curtain I made for the girls' room. It was originally going to be longer, but I made a calculation error and had to go shorter. They turned out cute and the girls love them!
