Birthday Pics

Here are some pictures from Jason's 5 minute birthday party. As soon as he blew out the candles and the girls ate a cupcake, I sent them to bed because I was so tired and so were they!
Jason's cake was supposed to be a "pizza" but it did not matter how much red food coloring I put in the frosting, it was still pink. So, the "sauce" was pink but the "cheese" (white chocolate) and "pepperoni" (cinnamon discs) looked good. Funny because the only birthday at our house so far who wouldn't need a pink cake, and it turns out pink anyway! =)
Thinking of his birthday wish. Maybe it should be that his knee gets better fast and he can lose the crutches and kneebrace.
Yay! He did it!
Jason's real birthday present was to go see Brian Regan, but he'd ordered this and it happened to show up on his birthday. I wonder if he'll be able to use it with his bum knee? You can see the girls picked out a little toy gun and caramels to give to their daddy.
Happy Birthday, Jason!

Happy Birthday Jason!

Today is Jason's 28th birthday and he certainly started it off with a bang! He had a church basketball game last night and when I got home from tutoring, he called to tell me I'd better come get him because he thought he'd torn his knee out. Great! So, I hurry over to the stake center and a couple guys help get him to the car and drive him home while I pack up the girls. When we got home, they got him in the house and outside, I take a giant biff on the ice and bang up MY right knee (the same one Jason hurt). So, mine is just bruised but his is worse. This morning we got up early to meet with our real estate agent and put an offer on a house! I am both super excited and terrified to take this leap. But it will be great and I'll tell more of that story at another time! Jason took today off from work for the sole reason of going to the state wrestling tournament in Pocatello. We were trying to decide if he should go to a doctor or not, but that man is determined to be there at the tournament and that's where he is as I write this! Gotta love the guy! So, I hope he has a fun couple days (since the tournament goes through tomorrow night). Meanwhile, the girls and I are baking his cake and watching princess movies in honor of his birthday! Happy Birthday, Babe! We love you!

Picture Tag X3

I was tagged to do the third picture in your third folder so here it goes:
This was my birthday in 2007 when we lived in Logan for 4 months. Becca's 1st birthday was a couple weeks before and here we are opening our combined gift from my mom. You can see we're watching Scrubs in the background, and with the mess all around me, you can see how much housework I got done while I was student teaching: NONE!
I think this is a really fun, random thing to blog about so if you feel so inclined, consider yourself tagged!

Thomas's Wedding

Jason's younger brother got married last month and here are a few pictures I snagged during the reception
My VERY handsome hubby!
Becca kept dragging Mckenzie around in the carseat

The girls (top) and Jason (bottom) enjoying the cake and ice cream. It was so good! I think I had 3 pieces!

The life of the party

Mckenzie and her second cousin, Mercedes. Mercedes is a little more than a month older.

They are so cute!
Congratulations Thomas and Cynthia!

Randomness

I know I have been lacking in my blogging but it's not my fault! Every time I come to sit at the computer to hopefully put something up, my children seem to follow me in (as they are here right now) and/or start demanding my attention by fighting, screaming, or pooping in their diapers. Therefore, the blogging gets put on hold. But I have made it a goal to blog a little today so here goes what we've been doing the past couple months:
Here is my little Sleeping Beauty. Gotta love the hair and 49ers shirt!
I'm not sure how this happened but Becca is wearing Jason's new coat and Elena is wearing mine. It makes them look so little!

I can't remember where we'd come from, but the girls were exhausted. Poor Elena!

Here we are (I'm obviously behind the camera) making homemade pizza. It turned out SO yummy! There goes Elena's hair!
Becca kept scooping up the cheese with this tablespoon and eating it! Look at that look of "innocence." Good thing I grated a lot of cheese because she'd eaten a lot by the time we put it on the pizza.

Brian Regan

Last night Jason and I got to see Brian Regan right here in Blackfoot. This was Jason's birthday present that I got to also enjoy! I laughed so hard, my face and sides hurt. I was a little worried that we would go and hear all the same jokes that I've heard before (even though I don't get tired of hearing them) but it was mostly all new. I'd only heard 2 or 3 of the jokes before and it was hilarious! If you've never heard him, you have to check him out! Brian's site I really like him because unlike other comedians, his act is really clean in both content and language. So, we had a blast and we're glad he came to a little place called Blackfoot, Idaho so we could enjoy his talent!

Recipe for Whitening Whites and Baby Poop

Hi, guys! I've been meaning to post this for a while and I just haven't ever got around to doing it. I know I'm not the only one who's child(ren) blow out of diapers or spit up or cause other horrendous stains on clothing. Plus, my whites tend to get a little dingy-looking over time. So, here is a great recipe that my sister, Monica gave me when I had Elena. It will take out those stains AND whiten your whites! It is amazing. If you try it, I would like to know what you thought.

Clean Clothes Category: Baby Poop
Prep Time: 24 hours Servings: 3 outfits (give or take)
Ingredients
1 bucket
1 gallon of hot tap water
1 scoop of OxyClean Powder (kind of expensive but SO worth it)
Zout (for pre treating
Clorox 2 (follow instructions on bottle)
This is also a great way to whiten your whites and also works on spit up and other baby stains.
Instructions
Spray Zout on affected area as soon as you can. If the stain has dried, wet first and try to rinse as much of the stain out of the clothes to begin with. Put OxyClean and water as well as stained clothing into bucket and let sit for 24 hours or longer. (Do NOT let dark colors i.e. blacks and blues sit with light colors) When ready to launder add 3-4 scoops of OxyClean to a full batch of laundry with regular laundry soap. Add less OxyClean if the load is smaller and add Clorox 2 as instructed on the bottle. Add laundry (preferably whites) and the entire contents of you soaking bucket to your washing machine. Let washing machine fill with water and agitate. Stop wash and let sit for one hour. Then start cycle over again and let the entire cycle run. Poop should be gone.

Good luck!

Picture Tag

So with this tag you post your 4th picture in your 4th folder and then tell a little bit about it.

On August 14, 2006, Jason flew out to Baltimore with our friend, Rich. Our bro-in-law Chris was installing security systems for the summer and was ready to drive home. Jason and Rich flew out, spent a day sight-seeing and going to a Braves game and then drove back across the United States. This picture was taken on their sight-seeing trip where Jason decided to sit on FDR's lap. He looks a little shy about it. =) P.S. He was gone over our anniversary and Becca was born 2 weeks later.
I tag Amelia, Aleisha, Shae, Carrie, Janelle, and Tiffany

My Dear Cousin Laura

My dear cousin, Laura Noall Steel passed away this passed Sunday after a long battle with Lupus. She was a wonderful person who truly loved everyone around her and valued her friendship with people she met. She also wrote some amazing songs and was in the process of getting them recorded when she became very ill. They are working to upload the songs she did record to her website for free download. She was only 30 years old and left behind a husband of 4.5 years and two little boys. I will miss you, Laura!
