So, I've never had any desire to have my ears pierced. I just haven't. I don't even OWN a pair of earrings...until now. I am now a jeweler with Premier Designs and that means I'm going to have A LOT of earrings, most of them pierced. Well, how can you OWN them and not get to WEAR them?!?! So, after thinking about it for several weeks and asking Jason's opinion about it, I did it. I pierced my ears on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. I was a little nervous because this felt like commitment. I had my sister help me mark them before I even went it so I was sure the holes were where I wanted them. It didn't hurt. It only pinched. And I am "marked" for life! =) The only bummer is I have to leave my studs in for 6 weeks and wear only post earrings for 6 months and all my new jewelry comes next week! I have a feeling I'm going to cheat on the post thing after 6 weeks is over. I am excited and I think that I'll like it.

don't cheat!! i got my ears pierced in june 09. i cheated after only 3 weeks, figuring that i could just hurry and slip some new ones in, and then i ended up having to wait for about 9 weeks total before my ears healed up. then after that, i forgot about the "posts only" for six months, and put the fish hook ones in...and that again made my ears have issues, and i had to put just simple studs back in again for about a week to help them heal! i guess the main thing is that the posts and the fish hooks hang in your ears different, so if you have the hooks in, then it makes your ears heal different on the inside, even though the outside has been healed. anyway...just some food for thought. :)

It was a long time ago since I got my ears pierced, but from what I remember, I totally didn't wait 6 months with the posts. But then again, all of our bodies are different and you'll just have to go be trial and error. Hope all goes well!! They look great!
Thanks for the advise! We'll see what happens. I won't cheat on the 6 week thing but I still don't know about 6 months. I'll have to see how many of my new earrings will be post earrings.

I got my ears pierced about 2 years ago for the first time. It's fun having some variety! It's amazing what a pair of earrings can do to "dress you up" just a little bit more.. Have fun and just make sure you put the disinfectant stuff on there every day---that's the advice I would give!
I didn't get mine pierced until a month before our wedding, so I too was stuck with plain posts for the wedding. Oh well, I still love fun earrings! Congrats my dear.
